Chapter 31: The Letter

Presently, however, and for some years now, I have come to see that my inability to reach you has been a part of God’s plan. There was more for me to learn and understand. Your Holiness, needless to say, statistics reflecting the status of our Church do present a sad picture, perhaps a prelude to the chaos I have foreseen. That status is one of unrest, disunity, infidelity, misplaced focus. The sedition becomes manifest in a lack of adherence to our Church’s laws. Evidently we have succumbed to an age-old trap in religion; we have fallen victim to the temptation of becoming attached to the rite while neglecting the rite’s purpose. Our outer selves are placated via rituals and signs, and this results in the neglect of the essential basic of our faith, the transformation of our souls, our very being.

A contributing factor for many of our people is that they have once again fallen prey to idol worship, even paganism, in their turning to the multitude of apparitions purported to be Marian. Without doubt, many are disguises, and not our Blessed Mother at all.

At the same time they are excellent opportunities for Satan, the Angel of Light, to assume the disguise of Jesus’ Mother and draw praise, worship, consecration, glory and honor to himself. He triumphs, though ever so tenuously, in usurping the worship he sought from Jesus as related in St. Luke’s Gospel:

Then leading Him to a height,
the devil showed Him in a moment of time all the kingdoms of the world and said to Him, “I will give You all this power and the glory of these kingdoms, for it had been committed to me and I give it to anyone I choose. Worship me, then, and it will all be Yours.” But Jesus answered him, “Scripture says: You must worship the Lord your God, and serve Him alone” (Luke 4:5-8).
