For a moment, let us hypothetically foresee the fulfillment of this revelation, that of Satan assuming the disguise of one worthy of honor, even our Blessed Mother and consequently exhibiting wondrous deeds and miracles. Undoubtedly we would witness hordes of traditionally-based Roman Catholics, even others, rushing out to follow the persuasions, the directives of such a disguised one. The stampede could and perhaps would overshadow the truth of Scripture. Your Holiness, I am certain you will agree with the following proposal: It would be difficult, almost impossible, to stop this run of our people, as throughout the years they have been encouraged in this turning to one other than God.
Certainly this indulgence, since it was and is Mary, the Mother of Jesus, has always been rooted in the best of intentions, and yet the Church Herself is responsible for presenting a way, an avenue for the possible occasion of deception. In many instances these well intended presented means to an end have become ends in themselves; upon entering into these avenues of symbolic actions, our people, emotionally and superficially satiated, become stymied and never progress on to fulfilling the need for their personal responsible participation in the required though blessed transformation of their being.
